Visual Artist Inez Ishizaki’s expression is rooted in drawing, she combines this with media such as installation, scenography and the printing arts. A leading question in her work is: how can drawings transform the experience of both the two dimensions and the physical space. In her drawings one is a witness to peculiar intimacies, where bodily habits and exchanges of looks turn into motifs and textures start forming stories of their own.
The installation "A Rondo with the Printed" was created within the framework of a mystical scenario: " a silent production process within a fictional print shop. There, many printers' hands have been busy documenting fur coats of superhuman size by inking and printing them directly…."
It is an installation that invites people to pull these printed fur coats towards themselves on their own and experience the details of this remarkable documentation process up close.
Three fur coats are stored high on the ceiling, each attached to its own wooden frame that can move up and down using a pulley system. The project's title is based on the "dance" that occurs when the visitor sets the graphic work in motion using the pulley mechanism. Similar to the musical and choreographic term "rondo," the graphic works move from top to bottom at varying tempos, aided by human movement. However, the works all slowly return to the "main theme," their original position on the ceiling.

STUDIO EMIT and Minerva Furniture Gallery developed the backing wooden frame structure to hang the Etched graphic artworks of Inez Ishizaki.
The framing structure is designed for disassembly, making it easy to transport, assemble and disassemble during the installation on the exhibition site.
Each frame parts are made into an octagon form, giving a decorative aspect when not covered during use.
Material: Dougulas fir
Size: 130cm x 230cm
